Fangs of the Father A Personal Account Part 5

This part of my quest line is all about killing Nalice. If you are still trying to get to Nalice make sure you check out my post about how to get to Nalice which has now been updated to include a helpful video and map.

Once you get to Nalice, if you die you can easily resurrect by her again so you don’t have to go through the turmoil of reaching her again. However, this also means that you may find your durability getting too low while you are making your attempts on her. Unfortunately there’s no cure for that unless you are an engineer. On a side note I’ve noticed that these Daggers get crazy durability loss so keep an eye on them! I’ve often had my Durability bar tell me I’m fine when my daggers are completely broken and they tend to go from 100% to 0% in 1-2 wipes so constant repairs needed.

Anyway, Nalice is a pretty simple boss all in all. She is designed to make you use every rogue ability at least once so make sure everything you have is accessible. In terms of toughness I found her markedly easier than Creed but she did still require some practice to get used to her abilities which meant by the time I had seen the whole fight my Durability was shocking. Therefore since I was determined to also try to do a half decent video of the kill, this kill video was basically the very last attempt at doing so before everything completely broke so I’m afraid it isn’t perfect. Far from it!

For those of you that like reading blurb, here is a quick run down of abilities and what to use to help you avoid taking a lot of damage:

[Arcane Destruction] – Arcane blasts will spawn all over the room and two pillars activate at one end of the room.
Use: [Sprint] to the pillars and right click them to stop this ability. Failure to do so will mean a guaranteed wipe.

[Arcane Infused Armor] – She becomes hard as a rock and your damaging attacks will do sweet F A.
Use: [Expose Armor] to reduce her armor and increase your damage to more reasonable levels.

[Arcane Infused Weapon] – Like an enrage *hint*. She hits HARD.
Use: [Evasion] to avoid getting smacked hard. Don’t use [Combat Readiness] unless you don’t have Evasion because it takes time to build up appropriate damage absorption which you cannot afford.

[Arcane Missiles] – A standard damage spell.
Use: [Kick] or [Kidney Shot] to interrupt.

[Blazing Shadows] – You leave a trail of purple fire. Fire hurts.
Use: [Sprint] in a circle around the edge of the room to avoid leaving fire on yourself or places you want to be fighting her. Use [Cloak of Shadows] if it catches up to you.

[Enrage] - Exactly what it says on the tin.
Use: [Shiv] to dispel the enrage.

Finally Remember to use [Recuperate] constantly, stun with [Kidney Shot] as often as you can, use [Blind] after a recuperate to regen some health for a bit while she’s incapacitated and last but not least pop your cooldowns when she’s [Sated] if possible.

MUCH easier sneak, especially taking the long way around to the cellar. The fight was interesting but extremely “push button 2 now, please” Obviously the best part of the whole questline.
